Amiens SC name Luka Elsner as new coach
Amiens SC have signed Luka Elsner as their new head coach for season 2019-20. The 36-year-old Slovenian takes over from promotion boss Christophe Pélissier.
Luka Elsner has been officially named as the new coach for Picardy-region Ligue 1 Conforama club Amiens SC, the club announced in a communiqué on Wednesday.
"Luka Elsner has signed with the Picardy club for two years, with an option for an additional season," read the news - free of any financial details - on the club's official website.
Elsner takes the reins from Christophe Pelissier, who signed on as head honcho at Domino's Ligue 2 side FC Lorient after a three-year stint that saw him take the club from the National (D3) to the top flight.

Elsner, a former youth and senior international defender with Slovenia, arrives in France from Belgium, where he was the boss at Union Sainte-Gilloise in the country's second division last season. Despite his relatively young age, Elsner has already amassed plenty of coaching experience, with Domzale, Ljubljana (Slovenian first division) and Pafos (Cypriot first division) and a playing career that featured a stint at Slovenian giants Domzale. The son of former Yugoslav international and OGC Nice player Marko Elsner, Luka grew up in France and speaks four languages fluently.
Amiens SC are set to return to training on 1 July, with training camps in Touquet (8 to 12 July) and England (23 to 39 July) and a notable friendly Hull City in Hull on 24 July. Amiens will also take on Boulogne-sur-Mer (National, D3) in Touquet on 12 July and Valenciennes (L2) on 19 July at a location yet to be determined.
