AS Saint-Etienne have made a statement concerning their injured players, notably Serbian defender Neven Subotic, who is faring well following a collision with a teammate in the 3-2 defeat to Bordeaux in Week 16.

Subotic, who received a blow to the head as he collided with Sainté 'keeper Stéphane Ruffier on Wednesday night, left hospital in Bordeaux on Thursday, the Rhône valley club announced.

"Les Verts' central defender slept well overnight. A precautionary scan was conducted in the late morning, and it proved to be very reassuring," read the communiqué from the club. "Thus Neven Subotic left the hospital accompanied by a club steward, and his return to Saint-Etienne is scheduled for late on Thursday afternoon."

Subotic and Ruffier collided as the 'keeper came off his line to intercept a high ball in the 23rd minute of the clash in Bordeaux. The defender received a knee to the face and was helped from the field bleeding profusely from his head.

Hamouma and Gabriel Silva out for several weeks

Meanwhile, AS Saint-Etienne declared that attacking midfielder Romain Hamouma, who was subbed off in the first half of ASSE's 3-0 win over Nantes last Friday, would be "sidelined for around five weeks with a collar bone sprain that does not require surgery". Full-back Gabriel Silva will be absent for four weeks, as a result of a groin strain.
