France midfielder Etienne Capoue has left Toulouse for Tottenham Hotspur, the 25-year-old signing a four-year deal worth a reported ten million Euros plus an additional two million in bonuses.

Capoue said after representing France in Wednesday night's friendly in Belgium that he would "be signing with Tottenham very soon", and on Thursday morning he was proven as good as his word when he jetted to London to pen to paper on the four-year deal with the London-based giants.

Rising star

Capoue's qualities have seen Tottenham following his career with interest for the last two seasons, and although there had been strong interest in the tough-tackling and versatile defensive midfielder from Monaco, Atletico Madrid and Cardiff, the Toulouse youth academy graduate had eyes only for Spurs and the Premier League.

A France youth international before playing his way into Les Bleus' senior squad (six caps, one goal) in August 2012, Caoue has played his entire senior career with Toulouse FC, scoring 13 goals in 174 appearance in his six seasons with the southwestern club.
