Diarra blow for OM
Embattled Olympique de Marseille boss Míchel will have to do without defensive midfield lynchpin Lassana Diarra for up to three weeks, the France international having picked up a knee injury in Sunday's loss to SC Bastia.
Although Olympique de Marseille coach Míchel was given the seal of approval by club owner Margarita Louis-Dreyfus earlier in the week - despite Sunday's 2-1 defeat in Bastia - the Spaniard's task has become that much tougher now that Diarra, arguably his best player this season, has been sidelined for three weeks.
The news comes at a terrible time for Marseille who, despite being in 13th place, are only six points clear of the drop zone with six matches left to play. Diarra, who underwent further examinations on Tuesday, will be out for three weeks, missing league clashes with Bordeaux, Monaco and Nantes.
Crucial Coupe clash
What's more, the team's metronome is also set to miss the Coupe de France semi-final in Sochaux on April 20, and Míchel will doubtless be hoping that either Alaixys Romao or Lucas Silva will be up to the task of replacing Diarra and helping book a place in the final of a competition in which a win could save the southern giants' season from catastrophic status.
