It's official, Alex Dupont is the new coach of AC Ajaccio, replacing Olivier Pantaloni.

The latter, who quit the club two weeks ago for 'personal reasons', is replaced by the former coach of Stade Brestois (2009-12) that he brought up to Ligue 1 at the end of the 2009-10 campaign.

Alex Dupont, soon to turn 58, was coach of Amiens (Ligue 2, 2004-06), Sedan (Ligue 1, 2000-Sept.2001), but also assistant coach to the Qatar national team (2001-02) and United Arab Emirates U21 coach (2006-07).

The new ACA coach, born in Dunkerque in France's north, was a professional player for his home town team USL dunkerque, from 1972-75 and 1979-83 and SC Hazebrouck (1975-79).

France Football named him French Coach of the Year in 2000.
