FC Miami City Soccer Academy becomes official partner of Ligue 1
In line with its policy to continue the international development of the Ligue 1, the French Professional Football League (LFP) is delighted to announce an unprecedented partnership with FC Miami City Soccer Academy.
FC Miami City is Miami's official football club and plays in the Premier Development League.
Throughout the season, the FC Miami City Soccer Academy organises training sessions for young players as well as an After School Program with scores of local partner schools. With more than 600 players in the academy and hundreds of other children trained after school, FC Miami City Soccer Academy has become the reference for football in Miami and, indeed, across the state of Florida.
This regional partnership with a prestigious football academy aims to introduce and promote Ligue 1 to a young American public that is growing more and more passionate about soccer. The figures attest to this growth, with more than four million registered players with the American football federation, U.S. Soccer, as well as the continued development of Major League Soccer.
This partnership will also allow FC Miami City Soccer Academy to use the names and logos of the LFP's competitions, strengthen its bonds with all French clubs, help in the development of young American and French players and represent professional French football in the United States. FC Miami City Soccer Academy will become the 'Ligue 1 Official Soccer Academy in Florida.'
Just a few months before the staging of the French Supercup in Montreal, Canada, on 1 August 2015, this partnership is a powerful tool to further develop and promote the image and awareness of Ligue 1 in North America.
