Edinson Cavani and Léo Dubois were among Ligue 1 Conforama's many stars who shone for their countries during the last international break for 2019. Take a look at the stand-outs…

Lined up against Albania as the right wing-back in a 3-5-2 - coach Didier Deschamps celebrated his hundredth match in charge of France with a brand-new formation - Olympique Lyonnais', Léo Dubois was excellent. The former Nantes right-back conjured the assist Antoine Griezmann's to score France's second goal in the 2-0 win over Albania on Sunday night that saw Les Bleus stitch up top spot in their Euro 2020 qualifying group.

While Dubois patrolled his flank with pace and power, AS Monaco's Wissam Ben Yedder turned in a more mitigated performance. OM 'keeper Steve Mandanda, on the other hand, was imperious on the rare occasions he was called upon.

Cavani back on the goal trail

While he has been out of action with PSG for most of the early part of the season, Edinson Cavani got back on track as Uruguay took on neighbours Argentina. El Matador opened the scoring with his second goal in as many matches during this break, while club-mate Leandro Paredes was a midfield starter for the Albiceleste.

Inspired by the strike duo of AS Saint-Etienne's Denis Bouanga and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Gabon beat Angola 2-1 on Sunday to take the lead in their qualifying group for the CAN 2021. Gabon sprang to life after a goalless draw against DR Congo on Thursday (0-0), thanks in particular to Bouanga, who scored his country's second goal. It should be noted that it was Aaron Boupendza, who is currently on loan to Feirense (Portuguese D2) from Bordeaux, who opened the scoring on the half-hour mark.

Brazil finally wins, Marquinhos captain

Brazil's Seleçao ended a series of five games without a win by defeating South Korea (3-0) in a friendly on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi. Paris Saint-Germain's Marquinhos was a starter in central defence, playing the whole game with the captain's armband while his club-mate Thiago Silva remained on the bench.

Despite making some dangerous runs, OGC Nice's Youcef Atal had a mixed evening for Algeria as they took on Botswana in AFCON 2021 qualifying on Monday evening, notably getting on the wrong end of a horrible tackle from Botswana's Gape Gaogangwe in the first half. However, the Côte d'Azur-based defender, delivered a very successful performance against Zambia (5-0) in Blida on Thursday, providing the assist for Youcef Belaili to score Algeria's third.

Efthymis Koulouris changed everything for Greece against Finland in Euro 2021 qualifying on Monday. The Toulouse striker, who entered the game in the second half when his side were struggling with a tenacious Finnish side at home, provided the assist for Konstantinos Galanopoulos to clinch victory 2-1 with 20 minutes left to go.

Fonte's Portugal qualify

José Fonte's Portugal team qualified for the Euro 2020 finals on Sunday, the LOSC defender a starter alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and co. Although conditions were tough in Luxembourg, Portugal won 2-0 - and kept a clean sheet - in a match where anything else would have meant failure to qualify. Fonte was also in Fernando Santos' starting XI when Portugal hammered Lithuania 6-0 a few days earlier.
