Ligue 1 Conforama

On the eve of Wednesday’s Coupe de France semi-final away to Sochaux, Olympique de Marseille announced it has suspended Spanish coach Michel for the remainder of the season.

Marseille are without victory in their last ten Ligue 1 matches and currently sit 15th in the standings, just six points above the relegation zone with four matches left to play this season.

Olympique de Marseille Official Statement:

Given the behaviour of Michel, especially over the last three weeks, Olympique de Marseille has suspended the coach with immediate effect and begins the process of parting ways.
Until the end of the season, assistant coach Franck Passi will take charge of the first team, with the assistance of newly-named sporting coordinator Basile Boli.

Marseille play Ligue 2 side Sochaux on Wednesday in the Coupe de France semi-finals, before hosting Nantes to the Stade Vélodrome on Sunday in Week 35 of the Ligue 1 season. Marseille have not won at home in Ligue 1 since their 4-1 victory over Bastia in Week 5 of the campaign.
