Memphis takes control!
The Olympique Lyonnais forward was at the heart of everything as his side took flight in the second half of their 4-2 win in Guingamp in Ligue 1 Conforama Week 13 action on Saturday.
There are no two ways about it: Memphis Depay is a key man for Olympique Lyonnais, and the Dutchman underlined this fact when his side travelled to the Stade du Roudourou for their Ligue 1 Conforama Week 13 clash with EA Guingamp (2-4). The 24-year-old was directly involved in all four of his side's goals (two goals and two assists) - something that only Neymar managed to pull off last season.
Against Guingamp, the OL forward shot five times and scored with each of his two on-target efforts while also cooking up three passes that led directly to shots on goal. His star turn also featured his first goal by direct free-kick since the one he hit against Amiens on the opening day of the season.
Memphis: Long-range threat
This season, Memphis has been directly involved in nine of OL's Ligue 1 Conforama 23 goals. On top of that, in matches where the Netherlands international has scored, his side have gone unbeaten and have won all but one of the 20 matches in question. Finally, his performance in Guingamp also underlined his skills at striking from distance - it was the eighth of his last 17 goals to have come from outside the penalty area.
