Monaco complete Cesc Fabregas move
AS Monaco have bolstered their struggling squad by completing the signing of Cesc Fabregas on a three-and-a-half year deal from Chelsea, last season's Ligue 1 Conforama runners-up announced on Friday.
At the Stade Louis II, the 31-year-old former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder is reunited with Thierry Henry, the Monaco coach who played alongside the Spain international when both wore the colours of the Gunners in north London.
"It's a great pleasure to join Monaco, a new project for me," Fabregas said in a press release. "The squad has quality with young players and a young coach. I'm here to help the team. I'm looking forward to making my debut, we have a big game coming up on Sunday against Marseille. I'm very excited."

The two-time English Premier League and one-time La Liga champion could make his first appearance for his new club at the Stade Orange Vélodrome when Monaco will seek to claim three points that could lift them out of the bottom two.
"We're very happy to welcome Cesc Fabregas — a world-class player and great professional — to Monaco, his arrival shows all the club's ambition," the principality outfit's vice-president Vadim Vasilyev explained.
"Of course he's a very good reinforcement technically for the club, but we're convinced his experience of the very highest level will give our players a lot on and off the pitch."
