Neymar 'back in a month'
Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar could be back in time for the champions-elect's final game of the season against SM Caen, according to the player himself.
Neymar was struck down with a foot injury in the capital club's 3-0 win over Olympique de Marseille, requiring surgery on a broken metatarsal, but it now looks like he could be back in time for PSG's title celebrations before heading off to Russia with Brazil for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"I'm still about a month away," the 26-year-old former darling of Barcelona told Brazilian broadcaster TV Globo. "I'm progressing really well. Everything is going as well as it can be."
Neymar had enjoyed an electric first season in France after becoming the world's most expensive player last summer, with 28 goals and 16 assists in all competitions before his injury setback.
PSG could wrest the Ligue 1 Conforama title back from AS Monaco with victory over the principality side this Sunday, and although Neymar won't be there to watch proceedings, he is expected back soon.
"Neymar's close to returning," said coach Unai Emery. "His recent medical test went well, and everything looks fine. He's progressed normally - he's close. When Neymar gets here, he'll be very eager to play. We hope he'll be in the team for the last few games of the season."
