Captain Dimitri Payet concedes Olympique de Marseille let their heads drop when they concede a goal but defended the side against allegations they play for themselves.

Last season's Europa League finalists are already out of this season's competition following their loss at Lazio on Thursday evening and OM are off the pace in Ligue 1 Conforama, six points back from the top three. Rudi Garcia's men have lost their last four games in all competitions.

Payet said: "I don't think the run is linked to people playing as individuals. There's a lack of character and when we concede a goal the heads go down. Conceding should just be something you go through. We need to work on that. Everybody in Ligue 1 fears us less and that's annoying. We have the team to do better. It's true that maybe we're beatable at the moment and we need to do everything we can to turn things around."
