Trophée des Chapmions: Emery hails cool heads

Trophée des Champions

Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery lauded his side's capacity to keep their heads and come from behind to secure a fifth-straight Trophée des Champions; opposite number Leonardo Jardim tipped his hat to Paris' cutting edge.

 AS Monaco 1 - 2 Paris Saint-Germain

Unai Emery (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"We saw two good teams tonight - very different from each other but both with a lot of talent out on the pitch. We controlled the match and we were good in the attacking phases even though they were dangerous on the counter. But we created a lot of dangerous situations. We wanted to continue playing our game and the team showed they know how to remain calm. That's very important."

Leonardo Jardim (AS Monaco coach): "We created some great chances for ourselves but we didn't take them. Paris won because they were more effective than we were. We were missing precision with the final ball. Paris deserved their win."

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi (Paris Saint-Germain Chairman and CEO)
"I'm very proud of the whole team; we played a huge match and won the 7th Trophée des Champions in Club history and our fifth in a row. It's a great performance. Dani Alves showed all his talent tonight; I'm very proud of him and, once again, the entire team after this great win."

Dani Alves (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"I'm very happy to have been able to help my teammates to win this first title of the season. I'm also happy to have won a first title with my new club. We want to go a long way and keep making progress… I just hope that this title won't be the last one!"
