Tunisia to host 2010 Champions Trophy

Trophée des Champions

The French Professional Football League (LFP) is delighted to announce that, for the second year in succession, the Ligue 1 curtain raiser, the Champions Trophy, will be hosted overseas. After Canada in 2009, Tunisia has been chosen to host the next edition.

This week, an LFP delegation met with the president of their Tunisian National Professional Football League, Mr. Ali Hafsi, to finalise the conditions of the match which pits the Ligue 1 champions against the French Cup winners.

The 2010 Champions Trophy will be held in the El Menzah Olympic Stadium in Tunis between Tuesday, July 27, and Friday, July 30.

This event provides the LFP with another excellent opportunity to promote French football to foreign markets, in particular Africa.
