The 2016-17 Ligue 1 Conforama season was a perfect one for AS Monaco. After starting their campaign with a 2-2 draw at home to EA Guingamp and a 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Louis II, the Monegasques were on course for a French league title, a first in 17 years for the principality club.

Invincible

On 25 February 2017, at the Stade de Roudourou against Guingamp, ASM won thanks to goals from Glik and Fabinho (1-2). This success marked the start of a series of 16 Ligue 1 Conforama wins, 12 of which were in the 2016-17 season. Monaco went on to clinch the eighth title in the club's history in May 2017 and would go unbeaten until 27 August.

After kicking off the following season with four more wins, Monaco fell in the Côte d'Azur derby against OGC Nice (4-0). Jardim's men thus saw their 16-game winning streak come to an end, with 45 goals scored and only nine conceded during the period.

In terms of win streaks, the Girondins de Bordeaux recorded the second-best performance with 14 straight wins in their title-winning 2008-09 season with Laurent Blanc on the bench.
