Olympique Lyonnais has exported a plethora of talents to the rest of Europe, and one of them is midfielder Tanguy Ndombélé. However, before his time with Lyon, the Frenchman began his career with Amiens SC.
Most of Ndombélé's appearances with Amiens came when the club was in Ligue 2, scoring two goals and registering seven assists. Still, he did play some contests when Les Licornes were in Ligue 1. Nonetheless, for OL, the midfielder's performance in France's second division was enough to scoop him up.
Ndombélé spent two seasons with Lyon, making 77 Ligue 1 appearances while scoring one goal and recording 16 assists. Afterward, like many top players from France's top flight, he would eventually spread his wings abroad in Europe.
He would test himself with Tottenham Hotspur, playing in North London from 2019 to 2022. Ndombélé would return for a second stint with Lyon in 2022 via a loan spell and relish the homecoming, as he told the club's official website last year.
"I've not really lost the feeling of being here. It brings back good memories. I managed to have two great seasons here. It went very well. I will try to come back and do the same! I will rejoin Moussa Dembele in particular, who is a very good friend of mine.
"We talk very often together. There are still a lot of quality players here in this squad. I have come here to revive myself personally; I still have confidence in myself! I have a few months to prove that I'm still here!"

The second stint with OL was brief but might have helped Ndombélé hit the reset button on his career. During the 2022-23 season, the midfielder would be part of SSC Napoli's historic Serie A title run, marking the first major trophy of his career.
Ndombélé is now with Galatasaray in the 2023-24 season, hoping to contribute to another club with league title aspirations.
