Ludovic Blas is hoping to set the 2023/24 Ligue 1 Uber Eats season alight at Rennes, but the new arrival at Roazhon Park has quite a love affair with Brittany after spells at Guingamp and Nantes - this is his Ligue 1.

BEST MEMORY

"My first goal in Ligue 1… in my first game at the Roudourou. First game at home and my first goal… I'll never forget it. Jimmy Briand set me up... he was a top player. It's always nice to think back to that moment, coming on for the first time at 17 and scoring…. it's amazing!"

WORST MEMORY
"Relegation with Guingamp. The moment we knew that we were down… that's my worst memory. I set records for precocity at Guingamp, I started my career there, so I wanted to leave the club in Ligue 1. So I'd say that's the biggest stain in my career so far."

BEST GOAL

"My goal at the Parc des Princes with Guingamp. It's unforgettable because it was a childhood dream. I used to go to watch PSG play as a kid with my family.  Just getting to play on that pitch is special. Clement Grenier took the corner, Cavani flicked it at the near post, and the ball dropped to me… I just went for it! I hit it on the half-volley and it went in off the crossbar. To score a goal like that, and to be voted man of the match, it's exceptional… in front of my family too. It was probably my best ever goal and I scored it in the best place possible."

BEST TEAMMATE
"
I've played with a lot of good friends and had some great times. I played with Marcus Thuram at Guingamp, having grown up with him in Paris… to play with him in Ligue 1 was incredible. Marcus Coco and I have evolved together. Out of my 300 matches, I think I my have played at least 200 with him. At Nantes, there's Randal Kolo Muani. We were a good duo, we had a great understanding and we did a lot of damage together!"

TOUGHEST OPPONENT
"The defender who really impressed me was Thiago Silva. He's incredible… so good. He's quite simply top class. When I played against him, he took me exactly he wanted to take me on the pitch… I'm someone who likes to be unpredictable in the one-on-ones, but he was really impressive."

BEST ATMOSPHERE
"
Lens is excellent… the Velodrome is very good as well… But my heart says Paris. It may not be the best atmosphere, but I have strong feelings for that stadium. That's the good thing about Ligue 1. There are lots of stadiums with terrific atmospheres. It's really enjoyable."

BEST COACH

"I'd say Gourvennec. He showed faith in me and gave me my chance in Ligue 1. We still keep in touch, so I'd definitely include him. Christian Gourcuff too. He brought me to Nantes, always trusted me, and he persevered with me when I wasn't playing very well in the early weeks. Kombouare is part of my story too. He pushed me to raise my standards when I needed to… and he gave me huge responsibility that has made me the player I am today. All of those coaches have played a part in my career."
