RC Strasbourg Alsace pulled eight points clear of the automatic relegation places with a 1-0 win over RC Lens at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

RC Lens 0-1 RC Strasbourg Alsace

Habib Diallo's first-half opener proved enough to separate the sides; the Senegal forward thumping his fifth goal of the season high beyond a helpless Jean-Louis Leca (21').

Having run riot against Nîmes Olympique last Wednesday, the recent 4-0 loss to champions Paris Saint-Germain is already firmly in the rearview mirror for Thierry Laurey's side.

AS Monaco 3-0 Angers SCO

At the other end of the table, AS Monaco extended their undefeated run to four games with a comprehensive 3-0 win over fellow European aspirants Angers SCO, with Kevin Volland bagging a goal and two assists.

The first half was drawing to a close when Niko Kovac's side deservedly broke the deadlock, Guillermo Maripan, the Chilean scoring from close-range after Volland had helped on Gelson Martins' cross (40')

Volland got his own name on the scoresheet inside the final 20 minutes, tapping in his ninth league goal of the campaign after good work from Caio Henrique (72'). Stevan Jovetic then added gloss to the scoreline, latching onto Volland's through-ball to finish first-time (81').

Stade de Reims 3-1 AS Saint-Étienne

Stade de Reims made short work of AS Saint- Étienne, meanwhile, Boulaye Dia bagging a brace in a 3-1 win at the Stade Auguste-Delaune to pull to within two goals of Kylian Mbappé at the top of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats scoring charts.

The hosts took the lead early on when Wout Faes was fouled in the Sainté area, and Dia stepped up to convert the resulting spot-kick (11'). The in-demand Senegalese striker then pulled onto 10 goals for the season before the half was out, meeting Xavier Chavalerin's cross for 2-0 (37').

Mathieu Cafaro put the game beyond doubt inside the hour with a fine free-kick (58') and although Charles Abi pulled one back (72') it proved to be too, little too late for ASSE, who are now four games without a win.

Girondins de Bordeaux 2-1 FC Lorient

Rémi Oudin was also at the double as Girondins de Bordeaux edged FC Lorient 2-1 at the Matmut Atlantique.

Oudin opened the scoring early on, getting on the end of Hwang Ui-jo's corner and steering an unstoppable finish beyond visiting goalkeeper Matthieu Dreyer (13').

Lorient kept their heads up though, and after drawing level thanks to Terem Moffi's quick reactions to a Benoît Costil parry (23'), and the Nigerian nearly put his team ahead soon after, denied a Goal of the Season contender with a back-heel by the width of the Bordeaux post (31'). Instead, Oudin made it 2-1 to Bordeaux with a deflected shot (43').

Second-half substitute Adrian Grbic thought he had snatched a share of the spoils four minutes from time, but his effort was ruled out for offside (86') and it ended 2-1 to les Girondins.

FC Metz 1-1 OGC Nice

It was honours even for FC Metz and OGC Nice, the mid-table pair playing out a 1-1 draw at the Stade Saint-Symphorien.

Nice opened the scoring with Amine Gouiri converting a penalty which he had earned after his shot had struck Boubakar Kouyaté's hand (15'). But Metz earned a share of the points late on when John Boye - almost inadvertently - turned home after Khéphren Thuram's shot had bounced off the post (79').

Montpellier Hérault SC 1-1 FC Nantes

There was no separating Montpellier Hérault SC 1-1 FC Nantes either, Ambroise Oyongo and Imran Louza exchanging goals at the Stade de la Mosson.

Cameroonian left sider Oyongo scored his first goal since September 2018 when he got onto the end of Jordan Ferri's deflected shot (6') but Louza returned fire early in the second half (51') to give Raymond Domenech his second successive draw since ending his 10-year hiatus from management.
