Relegation threatened Nantes came from behind to win 2-1 at champions Paris Saint-Germain as the champions wasted their chance of going top of Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

THE MATCH

Antoine Kombouaré masterminded the victory against the club he used to play for and coach as PSG suffered a major blow four days on from qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League. PSG are now three points behind leaders Lille with nine rounds remaining in the season.

Alban Lafont had plenty of work to do in the first half despite Komboauré selecting three centre-halves for the first time since succeeding Raymond Domenech. Lafont (11') saved brilliantly from Angel Di Maria, starting in the league for the first time since the Classique at the start of February.

Nantes hoped for a penalty when Presnel Kimpembe challenged Randal Kolo Muani (20") and Les Canaris enjoyed a strong spell as Keylor Navas, fresh from his midweek heroics against Barcelona, got down well to save from Ludovic Blas (30'). Di Maria (36') wasn't far away with a trademark curler and then Rafinha (40') forced Lafont into a great stop after a one-two with Marco Verratti.

PSG took the lead (42') through Julian Draxler who calmly finished after Di Maria's pass - intended for Mbappé - broke off Andrei Girotto and sat nicely for the German to stroke home.

The champions took their foot off the pedal in the second half and were made to pay. Kolo Muani (59') latched onto a casual Kylian Mbappé lateral pass, easily rid himself of  Marquinhos and smashed the ball home. Moses Simon (71') then gave the visitors the shock lead. Abdoulaye Touré flicked on a long Lafont punt and Kolo Muani turned provider, squaring for the Nigerian international to score.

PSG sub Leandro Paredes (80') brought the best out of Lafont with a powerful right-footed shot but Mauricio Pochettino's team couldn't find an equaliser and will be under huge pressure when they go to Lyon in Round 30.

THE PLAYER: Moses Simon

The Nigerian international has hit his stride at just the right time for Nantes as they try to salvage their top division status at the end of a trying campaign. Simon has scored three times in his last five league appearances and is beginning to forge an energetic and impressive understanding with Kolo Muani.

THE STAT: 7

Paris Saint-Germain have lost seven league matches this season, a record since the QSI era began in 2011.
