Egyptian star Mostafa Mohamed grabbed his first Ligue 1 Uber Eats goals as FC Nantes came from behind to beat Toulouse FC 3-1 at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday.

THE MATCH

Last season’s Ligue 2 champions Toulouse were looking to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign and went in front quarter of an hour in as summer signing as Zakaria Aboukhlal latched onto a ball over the top and fired in low into the far corner of the net.

Nantes goalkeeper Alban Lafont then needed to backtrack rapidly and head over his own bar to stop Nicolas Pallois scoring an outrageous lobbed own goal from 25 yards, but Les Canaris turned the game on its head in a superb start to the second half.

The equaliser arrived five minutes after the restart when Evann Guessand headed in at the near post from a Moses Simon left-wing cross to score his first goal since signing on loan from OGC Nice.

Nantes then went ahead in the 55th minute with Guessand turning provider to cross from the right for Mohamed to head in, and the Egyptian then chested down another cross for Simon to control and fire in and make it 3-1 just after the hour mark.

That goal was initially disallowed for offside before being given after a quick VAR check, and Nantes held out for their first win of the new campaign as they move level on points with Toulouse.

The 24-year-old Egypt striker scored his first goal in Ligue 1 and also provided an assist on just his second start since signing on loan from Turkish giants Galatasaray.
