In an intense Ligue 1 clash at Roazhon Park, AS Monaco triumphed 2-1 against Stade Rennais, showcasing their resilience despite facing adversity.

Monaco took the lead through Vanderson, courtesy of Balogun's impressive assist. However, Vanderson was then sent off in the 75th minute reducing Monaco to ten men, complicating the game for them.

Without suffering from it, Monaco showed determination, with Youssouf Fofana widening the gap with a clinical 85th-minute finish and another Balogun assist. Rennes then pulled a goal back on a late penalty converted by Benjamin Bourigeaud.

Folarin Balogun, the standout USMNT talent, played a pivotal role, contributing two crucial assists to Monaco's victory.

This win takes Monaco to 30 points from 15 games, their highest tally at this stage since their 2016/17 title-winning season. Also, this victory marks Monaco's 300th win across all competitions since Dmitry Rybolovlev assumed the presidency.

For Rennes, they have lost six of their last eight matches in the top-flight. Also, have lost three of their last five Ligue 1 home games, showing a huge need to turn things around.

Monaco's ability to secure a significant away win, despite Vanderson's red card, solidifies their position as strong contenders for the league title. Rennes remain 12th in the table.

Under Adi Hütter, Monaco continues to show huge potential for a title challenge if they maintain this impressive form.
