A brace from Yassine Kechta and André Ayew's first goal at Stade Océane gives Le Havre a vital win in the battle to stay up in Ligue 1 Uber Eats

Les Ciel et Marine have recorded a huge victory in Ligue 1 Uber Eats which sees the Normand side almost safe from direct relegation to Ligue 2 BKT, now sitting in 14th place on 32 points.

After a bustling start to the game, it was the away side that opened the scoring through Kechta in emphatic fashion, with the Moroccan youth international latching onto Casimir's cross with a dramatic diving header (24'). Yet the Havrais almost let Strasbourg back into the game with a howling error via goalkeeper Desmas who cleared the ball into the opposing striker Emegha, but it didn't amount to a goal.

Yet, Emegha would be involved again as Bakwa was played in behind and fed a ball into the striker, who's shot - despite being alone - was cleared by a Le Havre defender off the line. Bakwa would come close before the break, but Le Havre held resolutely before the end of the first half.

Strasbourg then looked to get back into the game, but Desmas was vital again in stopping Emegha's goal-bound header. It looked a vital turning point, as Le Havre went on to double their lead through Kechta with - yes - another header from a cross delivered by Casimir to send the Normand faithful into raptures.

Strasbourg would get back into the game via the third headed-goal of the game, this time turning home past Desmas following a corner (86'). It created a sense of tension, as Strasbourg pushed for an equaliser, but André Ayew would be the man to settle the score, with a rebounded strike after Kusyaev was brought down in the box (90'+6). It would be the former Marseille man's second goal in two games after his strike against Paris Saint-Germain, and his first at the Stade Océane this season since joining in January.
