Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé emerged as France's top dog in the Ballon d'Or voting, coming in at number six in the ranking of football's highest individual honour.

The ceremony that crowned Lionel Messi with a record sixth Ballon d'Or title in Paris on Monday night was also the occasion for Les Bleus' prodigy Mbappé to shine as the highest-ranked Frenchman in the prestigious award.

Although he came in at number four in 2018, the Paris Saint-Germain superstar outshone France teammates and World champions Antoine Griezmann (Atlético Madrid and Barcelona, ESP) in 18th and Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur, ENG) in 23rd as well as countryman Karim Benzema (Real Madrid, ESP) in 26th.
