Ghanaian international full-back Baba Rahman has signed for Reims on loan to the end of the season.
Reims moved for the 24-year-old following the injury to left-back Ghislain Konan, who underwent an operation to a discal hernia on Monday. Rahman spent the first half of the season on loan from Chelsea to Bundesliga club Schalke and was used sparingly, featuring only twice in the league.
Signed by Chelsea for 20 million euros from Augsburg in 2015, Rahman will play for the Champagne club for the remainder of the campaign in a deal that does not include an option to buy.
Mathieu Lacour, director-general of Reims, described it as "a win-win deal," adding: "You can be a top level player and have played in the biggest competitions and still show elegance."
