Mario Balotelli is set to undergo tests on the thigh injury that forced him out of Olympique de Marseille's 2-1 win over Nîmes Olympique on Saturday to determine how long the Italy striker will be sidelined.
Balotelli limped off the Stade Orange Vélodrome pitch 32 minutes into Saturday's match to be replaced by Valère Germain, who would eventually break the deadlock with the opening goal of the game.
Balotelli, who would have missed next Saturday's Ligue 1 Conforama trip to Guingamp through suspension anyway, had been unable to start last weekend's match at Bordeaux due to a similar problem.
The former Liverpool, Manchester City and OGC Nice forward will know how long — if at all — he faces on the sidelines after tests are run at at the start of next week.
"He stopped because he wasn't 100 per cent," explained OM boss Rudi Garcia. "He wanted to continue, but there was no point in playing with a player who wasn't fully fit."
