Thierry Henry's potential arrival as coach of Girondins de Bordeaux "would be just fantastic" for Ligue 1 Conforama, says Paris Saint-Germain's Thomas Meunier.

Former Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal, Barcelona and New York Red Bulls forward Henry has been touted as a replacement for Gustavo Poyet at the head of Bordeaux's first team.

Henry has been part of Belgium coach Roberto Martinez's staff since 2016, giving Red Devils' full-back Meunier the chance to assess the 41-year-old's coaching abilities up close.

And the PSG man is nothing but impressed.

"It would be just fantastic for Ligue 1," Meunier said. "We know he's highly competent. He brought something very nice, very positive to the national team. People like him, like Zidane, don't need to force anything: people listen to them immediately. They have had a good career, and that works in their favour."
