The Brazilian forward has been suspended for one match after his red card in Paris Saint-Germain's 4-3 win over Bordeaux on Sunday night.

Neymar clearly had a rush of blood to the head and it prove costly. Just after he had been on the receiving end of a robust - with but unsanctioned - challenge from Youssouf Sabaly, the Brazilian lashed out with  wicked tackle on ex-PSG youngster Yacine Adli and was promptly awarded a second yellow card.

Unsurprisingly, the LFP's Disciplinary Commission decided to rule on the two yellow cards received by Neymar Jr. and, as provided for in the regulations following his expulsion, the Brazilian received a one-match ban.

Two hit-outs before Dortmund

Which is bad news for Thomas Tuchel, who will have to do without his playmaker as Dijon visit the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 Conforama Round 27 action on Saturday.

The former Barcelona man criticised his club's coaching and medical staff for being overly cautious with his return form a rib injury - something he claimed led to a sub-par performance in the UEFA Champions League defeat to Dortmund in mid-week - but will now spend another weekend in the stands.

Neymar will then have the Round 28 trip to Strasbourg and the home clash with Nice in Round 29 to try to get back to his best before Dortmund come calling at the Parc des Princes in the return leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie on 11 March looking to press home their 2-1 aggregate lead.
