First idol, craziest player in the dressing room, most difficult opponent to mark... Young OM defender Boubacar Kamara answers some quick-fire questions…

Why do you wear the number 4 jersey?

Since I was a kid, I've always had the number 4. When I joined the senior squad, I was vacillating between the number 4 and 23, which corresponds to my birthday, but the club gave me the number 4.

Who was your first idol?

Lionel Messi. I think he's the best player on the planet. If you like football, you have to like Messi.

What would you do if you weren't a football player?

I never thought about it... what would I do? Other than being a footballer, I really don't know.

Who's the most impressive player you've ever played against?

It's Neymar. He's a world-class player, unpredictable, and therefore very hard to mark.

What's the first jersey you ever got?

It was an OM jersey from the Didier Drogba era, with the sponsor 9 Telecom.

Who is your role model in football?

At the moment I like Kalidou Koulibaly and Virgil van Dijk very much. They are the two benchmarks in my position, tough players, difficult to pass, with a good long game and plenty of character.

What is your favourite move on the pitch?

A pass that breaks the lines.

What's the toughest move in football from a technical point of view?

Your first touch. If you don't have a good first touch, you can't go behind.

Who's the craziest guy in the Marseille locker room?

It's Adil Rami. What you can see of him off the pitch matches perfectly with how he behaves within the squad. He's crazy.

What's your best memory from the 2018-19 season?

My first goal for the senior team. It was the winner against Girondins de Bordeaux in February (1-0).
