Samuel Grandsir is determined to succeed at AS Monaco after a successful loan spell at Stade Brestois 29 during the 2019-20 season.

Grandsir joined Monaco in 2018 from ESTAC Troyes, but featured in just 12 Ligue 1 games for the principality outfit before heading to RC Strasbourg Alsace on loan for the second half of the season.

He failed to find the net in eight fitful appearances for the Alsatian club, but fared better in Brittany where he scored three times and added an assist in 23 league appearances to keep Brest out of trouble.

With three years left on his Monaco contract, he now sees his future at the Stade Louis II, despite the formidable competition for places in Roberto Moreno's bloated squad.

"I think I had quite a good season and did some good things. I came to Brest on loan for some playing time, but I belong to Monaco. I have three years left on my contract there and I want to establish myself. I know I have the qualities to establish myself there," Grandsir explained to the Ouest France newspaper.

"It's not a problem even though there is a lot of competition for places. I like that and I think it's important. It doesn't scare me."
