Stade Rennais have announced that captain and right-back Romain Danzé has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the Brittany club until June 2019.

A product of Stade Rennais' renowned youth academy, defender Romain Danzé has been at the Brittany club his entire career and on Friday the 28-year-old made it clear that he is not dreaming of pastures new as he put pen to paper on a three-year contract extension.

Resolute

"I have fewer doubts these days and I know where I'm going," Danzé, a former France U-20 and U-21 international, told his club's official website. "I now myself better too. I've learnt a lot from the different coaches I've trained under and the players I've played alongside at Rennes over the years."

Danzé, who made 31 appearances (29 starts) to help Philippe Monatnier's side finish ninth in season 2014-15, arrived at the club as a fifteen-year-old, playing alongside the likes of Yoann Gourcuff and Sylvain Marveaux at the youth academy. He signed his first professional contract with the club in 2006 and, in the nine seasons since, has made 301 appearances for the first team (ten goals) either at right-back or as a defensive midfielder.
