Saint-Etienne are back in training and coach Claude Puel and the club are working hard behind the scenes to determine exactly what squad Les Verts will have for the Coupe de France final against PSG on July 24.

One-club man Loïc Perrin and Yohan Cabaye are out of contract at the end of the month, while centre-half William Saliba is due to join Arsenal following the end of his loan spell at the club where he came up through the ranks.

In a press conference, Puel commented: "Timothée Kolodziejczak and Mahdi Camara will be suspended for the final and I find that very regrettable. I find it a pity that exceptional circumstances weren't taken into account with the three-four month break. They miss the final and we'll miss them.

Cabaye contract offer

"We also have players at the end of their contracts and we'll look at those. Loïc Perrin is with us training and might have the opportunity to sign a contract extension. We've also made an offer to Yohan Cabaye and we're waiting for his response. William Saliba is with us enjoying some training sessions. We'll see if there's the possibility for him to stay a bit longer."

Puel also confirmed that Jessy Moulin will start next season in the Saint-Etienne goal. Puel said: "I was satisfied with the way Jessy filled in before the pandemic. He will start in goal next season. I have confirmed it to him and I confirmed it to Stéphane Ruffier."
