Olympique Lyonnais host Nantes on Wednesday evening determined to carry on their excellent Ligue 1 Uber Eats form.

OL went top of the table on Saturday night, remaining there for 24 hours before LOSC's 0-0 draw with Paris Saint-Germain, and were terrific as they won 4-1 at Nice. Coach Rudi Garcia was again grateful to his "KTM" attack as all of Memphis Depay, Tino Kadewere and Karl Toko Ekambi got on the scoresheet.

Lyon, champions seven times in a row up until 2008, are now unbeaten in 13 league games and have taken 26 points from the last 30 available. Fresh, with no European football for the first time in 24 years, OL are very much involved in what is shaping up to be a thrilling title race.

"The league is very tight"

Speaking after the victory at Nice, Garcia said: "Our objective is to be in the Champions League and that means finishing in the top three. We'll see what happens. If we said we were fighting for the title then you'd all say we lacked humility or something. Have no worries for our ambitions. The league is very tight. We're just putting our heads down, pedaling hard and trying to stay in contact."

Zimbabwean forward Kadewere has excelled in a wide role on the right and has scored six times in his last seven shots on target. The top scorer in Ligue 2 for Le Havre last season said: "We have an understanding on the pitch when we play together. We have played a lot of good matches but it's only the start of the season and we need to keep working hard in order to finish the league campaign with lots of points to get back into the Champions League.

Kadewere: "We have a lot of very strong players"

"I had a very good season last year with Le Havre and when I got here I realised I had good team-mates who work all the time with me, and who talk to me a lot. That explains why I've been able to adapt so quickly. When you play with players like my team-mates then it's magnificent. We have a lot of very strong players, everyone wants to play and we have a very good team. It's good for me, it's all going well and I will try to carry on like this and keep working for the team and for myself."

Nantes, now coached by Patrick Collot, have failed to win any of their last seven Ligue 1 matches and have only 15 points from 16 games. Les Canaris are only four points above the bottom two and their future, like that of Collot, is uncertain.

After his side's 1-1 draw at home to Angers on Sunday, the interim coach told Téléfoot: "I don't have the career objective of being a number 1. I know what I'm capable of as an assistant and what I can bring to the head coach. My vision is not to become a number one at any price. We still have a match to prepare against Lyon and that game will come around very quickly. We'll work on it until Wednesday and after it we will have a few days in order to reflect on the best solution for the club."
