Olympique Lyonnais coach Rudi Garcia says his players must take on board the lessons from dropping points at Reims, a major blow to OL's Ligue 1 Uber Eats title ambitions.

Substitute Tino Kadewere rescued a point for OL, cancelling out Mathieu Cafaro's opener and Garcia said: "I'm not angry but we need to learn the lessons for the future. We have to be capable of letting the horses loose and being extremely motivated all the time. It's bizarre. Did what's at stake weigh on us? I don't know. I'll talk about it with my players."

OL may be unbeaten in their last 13 Ligue 1 away games and have nine goals scored by substitutes - a Ligue 1 high - but the result left the club third in the table, with champions Paris Saint-Germain and LOSC having scope to pull away in Round 29.

"A sanction for our awful first half"

Garcia continued: "The result is a sanction for our awful first half. In the second half, we played up to our level and played as a team. It was one-way traffic. I would have liked us to have equalised earlier as I think we could have gone on to win the game but they also had an excellent goalkeeper. We only played for 45 minutes and that wasn't enough. I changed three players at half-time but I could have made 11 changes. There was too much of a difference between the halves of football we played."
