Lorient striker Terem Moffi scored the sixth hat-trick of the season in the 4-1 win over Bordeaux in Round 34 - his first in Ligue 1 Uber Eats - the Nigerian hitman confirming his rise to prominence in emphatic fashion.
Terem Moffi is in unstoppable form as the season reaches its climax. The Nigerian has scored no fewer than six goals in his last three league games: a goal at Lens and a double against OM followed by three against Bordeaux at the weekend.
With this triple play, Moffi became the fourth FC Lorient player to score a hat-trick in France's top flight. The first? Jean-Claude Darcheville (27 October 2001 against Guingamp) and then two France strikers, Andre-Pierre Gignac (26 August 2006 against Nantes) and Kevin Gameiro (19 February 2011 against Bordeaux).

After arriving on the scene between late 2020 and early 2021 (goals in five consecutive matches) the Nigerian striker had had something of a dip, scoring in just one of the next ten games - a double that secured a point away to Monaco. But now Terem Moffi is back on track; against Bordeaux, he first converted a Yoane Wissa assist before deftly rounding Benoit Costil for his second and then, saving the best for last, dispatched a curler from outside the box to complete the stunning performance.
6th hat-trick this season
While the league's top scorer Kylian Mbappé, who scored twice on Matchday 34, consolidated his position at the top of the scorers chart, Moffi's star turn moved him up to fifth. Now with 14 goals and three assists in 28 Ligue 1 Uber Eats matches, Moffi is undoubtedly one of the revelations of the season and has more than justified Lorient's opting to recruit him from Kortrijk despite his having made just ten appearances for the Belgian side. The Nigerian is the sixth player to score a hat-trick in Ligue 1 Uber Eats this season, following hot on the heels of Saint-Etienne's Tunisian wizard Wahbi Khazri, who also put three past Bordeaux, a fortnight ago.
