Olympique de Marseille confirmed on Monday evening the permanent transfer of Pol Lirola, who was on loan from Fiorentina in the second half of last season.
Pol Lirola is back. The Spanish right-back, who was loaned out by Fiorentina to OM in the second half of last season, has joined the Marseille club on a five-year transfer, the club announced on Monday evening.
Man of the moment
The 24-year-old attack-minded full-back was convincing during his first spell at Marseille, scoring two goals and providing four assists in 24 games. His return has been keenly anticipated by OM's Argentinian coach Jorge Sampaoli, who started the season without a single right-back in his squad.
Lirola is Marseille's ninth signing since the start of an extremely busy transfer window the has seen them bring in the likes of Mattéo Guendouzi, William Saliba, Gerson, Konrad de la Fuente, Cengiz Ünder and Luan Peres.
