France captain Hugo Lloris gave his thoughts on Kylian Mbappé's record-equalling four-goal haul that helped France to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - and also spoke about a possible return to Ligue 1 Uber Eats - ahead of Les Bleus' final qualifier against Finland on Tuesday.

France's 8-0 mauling of Kazakhstan on Saturday was more than enough to qualify Hugo Lloris and his teammates for the next World Cup, and Lloris recognised that it was a special night for four-goal hero Kylian Mbappé - especially given that it was his missed penalty saw Les Bleus crash out of Euro 2020 in the quarters.

'Full of confidence'

"Kylian was in his own back yard at the Parc des Princes. He is full of confidence," said Lloris of the prodigy from Bondy, who became the first player to score four or more goals in a single match for France since since Les Bleus legend Just Fontaine put four past West Germany back in 1958. "Like all the players who were at the Euros, there are always doubts when you don't meet expectations. He has been able to ask the tough questions of himself - like a great champion. He was made to break records and win titles. He shouldn't put any limits on himself."

Meanwhile there are some questions as to Lloris's future at Tottenham Hotspur, where the storied 'keeper is yet to pen an extension on his contract, which comes to term in June of 2022.

'I'm not closing any doors'

"We will have discussions in the coming weeks. We need to get the club back on track and adapt to the demands of new coach Antonio Conte and his staff. I've been there for a few years," said the former Nice and OL 'keeper, who made the move across the Channel to North London back in 2012. "It's still a pleasure but I am not closing any doors. I want to enjoy my football. I am always interested in having a work philosophy. That's what counts for me. I look for pleasure in winning."

France play Finland in their final 2022 World Cup qualifier at the Helsingin Olympiastadion in Helsinki at 20:45 CET on Tuesday night.
