FC Girondins de Bordeaux have parted ways with coach Vladimir Petkovic just seven months after luring the Bosnian-Swiss coach away from the Swiss national team in the summer.
Bordeaux have endured a tough season under Petkovic so far, and Sunday's 5-0 Ligue 1 Uber Eats Round 23 hammering in Reims proved the final straw for the club's directors, who announced on Monday that they were ending their collaboration with Petkovic and his assistant Antonio Manicone.
Petkovic, who had 18 months left to go on his contract, leaves the club sitting in 19th place (four wins, eight draws and 11 defeats) with the division's leakiest defence.
Former Reims boss David Guion is the favourite to replace Petkovic as Bordeaux - who made a raft of signings in the winter transfer window - look to turn their season around.
