The battle to be Ligue 1 Uber Eats' top scorer took another twist in Round 34 with Martin Terrier and Wissam Ben Yedder both closing the gap on Kylian Mbappé's lead at the top of the scoring charts.

No way through

Kylian Mbappé was unable to add to his 22-goal return despite Paris Saint-Germain officially claiming the Ligue 1 Uber Eats title on Saturday evening.

The newly-crowned champions were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Lens and despite a host of opportunities to add to his tally, Mbappé was unable to find a way past Lens 'keeper Jean-Louis Leca.

Martin Terrier was on target for the seventh-consecutive match to register his 21st goal of what has been a tremendous campaign for the 25-year-old.

Terrier found the net in Rennes 5-0 destruction of Breton neighbours Lorient at Roazhon Park and should the former Lyon man continue his rich vein of form until the end of the season, he could well be showcasing his talents against Europe's best in next season's Champions League.

Goal shy in midweek against Nice, it was business as usual for Wissam Ben Yedder as he scored Monaco's opener in the principality side's 4-1 thrashing of Saint-Étienne at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard.

Ben Yedder was in the right place at the right time to tuck home Caio Henrique's inviting cross to fire his side in front. The former Sevilla striker is now on 20 goals for the season and firmly in the running to top the scoring charts.

Not going away

Lyon striker Moussa Dembélé continued his outstanding run of form in Lyon's 5-2 demolition of Montpellier.

Dembélé broke the deadlock at the Groupama Stadium as Lyon looked to salvage something from what has been a frustrating season.

The Frenchman finds himself in fourth place on the scoring charts with 16 goals for the campaign. With four games remaining, Dembélé has an outside shot of overhauling the chasing pack, should he continue his prolific form.

Movement

Rennes striker Gaëtan Laborde ended his six-match goal drought with an added-time finish against Lorient. Laborde moves up to 15 goals for the season.

Round 35

Round 35 takes us into the final straight with the top three scorers all hoping to continue their excellent form. Ligue 1 Uber Eats champion Kylian Mbappé travels to the Stade de la Meinau as PSG battle high-flying Strasbourg on Friday night and the 23-year-old will be hoping to get back amongst the goals against Julien Stéphan's men. Martin Terrier and Rennes host relegation-threatened Saint-Etienne at Roazhon Park, whilst Wissam Ben Yedder will be hoping to get the better of the Angers back line at the Stade Louis II.
