Neymar was the big mover in Round 2 with a brace in Paris Saint-Germain's 5-2 victory over Montpellier whilst last season's top scorer Kylian Mbappé opened up his account for the season.

Samba magic

PSG's Brazilian star Neymar continued his excellent start to the season scoring from the penalty spot before adding a rare header to move to the top of the standings with three goals from two games played.

Lens forward Florian Sotoca was unable to add to his hat-trick in Round 1 as Lens drew 0-0 at Ajaccio. Sotoca shares the lead with Neymar going into Round 3 next weekend.

Marseille's two-goal hero from Round 1, Luis Suarez was unable to add to his tally but team-mate and Arsenal loanee Nuno Tavares scored for the second-successive week in the club's 1-1 draw at Brest.

Another Arsenal loan signing was amongst the goals in Round 2 as striker Folarin Balogun netted his second goal in consecutive weeks for Reims. But it was a bittersweet moment for the American as Oscar Garcia's men were resoundingly beaten 4-2 at home to Clermont.

Pascal Gastien's Clermont were clinical in their win at the Stade Auguste Delaune thanks in part to Komnen Andric who scored his first Ligue 1 Uber Eats goal from the penalty spot before heading home his second of the game.

First of many?

There was a first Ligue 1 Uber Eats goals for new Monaco striker Breel Embolo who took advantage of a defensive error to earn the principality side a point against Rennes.

Last season's Ligue 2 BKT top scorer Rhys Healey scored his first-ever top-flight goal in Toulouse's 3-0 win at Troyes.

Healey scored 27 times last season to fire Toulouse to promotion and will be delighted to be up and running for the season as Toulouse once again look to the Englishman for the goals to fire them to safety

Round 3 sees two-goal Jonathan David go up against Neymar and Lionel Messi (2 goals) when LOSC host Paris Saint-Germain next Sunday night.

Florian Sotoca and Lens travel to Monaco on Saturday afternoon hoping to improve on his prolific start whilst Marseille with Nuno Tavares and Luis Suarez entertain Nantes at the Orange Velodrome.
