Marseille head to Ligue 1 Uber Eats news boys Auxerre having made a positive start to the season. Fans worried about Jorge Sampaoli's departure as coach have had those fears allayed with Tudor overseeing an undefeated start to the campaign.

Undefeated, Marseille have picked up 13 of a possible 15 points so far, most recently beating Clermont at the Orange Vélodrome on Wednesday. Pape Gueye got what proved to be the winning goal before Alexis had a late penalty saved by Mory Diaw.

Plenty of options

Tudor was pleased with his side's performance overall, and refused to take Alexis off penalties, even though he has the likes of Dimitri Payet and Cengiz Under in his squad.

"It could have been a big win, 4-0 or 5-0," said the Croatian tactician. "We dominated and had many chances. What I like less is that after the goal we relaxed a bit. The match therefore remained open until the end.

"No, there's no specific order for penalty takers," he continued. "It was [Alexis] who decided to take the ball. I'd given no indication. Unfortunately he missed but he'll score the next one."

Brazilian midfielder Gerson has overcome an ankle injury while centre-back Samuel Gigot was taken off at half-time against Clermont with a muscular complaint. With Marseille kicking off their UEFA Champions League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, some rotation is expected.

Rotation?

Former Arsenal man Sead Kolasinac could replace Gunners loanee Nuno Tavares on the left flank, while Under and Gerson are pushing to start having been on the bench against Clermont.

Auxerre are unlikely to roll over for Marseille on Saturday. AJA have made a positive return to the top flight after an 11-year hiatus, rebounding from their opening day 4-1 loss to LOSC with a draw and two wins before being edged 2-1 by Olympique Lyonnais on Wednesday.

Tetê and Karl Toko Ekambi gave Lyon a 2-0 lead at the Groupama Stadium before Mathias Autret came off the bench to reduce the arrears, and Jean-Marc Furlan - a former Lyon player - was disappointed not to get more from the game.

Furlan: 'slight frustration'

"A slight frustration remains since in the second half, there was much more fluidity with the usual starters who know each other very well," he said.

"Saturday it'll be Marseille then Rennes the weekend after. It looks difficult. There are two championships in this Ligue 1 season but I'm still satisfied with what my boys showed today. I liked how they resisted OL in the defensive third."

Autret will likely start against Marseille while Nuno Da Costa's return from injury means Lassine Sinayoko has been restored to the right wing. Gaëtan Charbonnier and Théo Pellenard are long-term injury absentees with a broken leg and torn cruciate ligament respectively, but Julian Jeanvier shoul be back soon after twisting his ankle.

Possible teams

Auxerre: Costil; Pereira, Jubal, Coeff, Mensah; Touré; Sinayoko, Sakhi, Hein, Autret; Da Costa

Marseille: Lopez; Mbemba, Bailly, Balerdi; Clauss, Rongier, Veretout, Kolasinac; Under, Gerson; Alexis
