Marseille have made a brilliant start to the Ligue 1 Uber Eats season, winning five of their six games and drawing the other to sit second in the table, only behind leaders and champions Paris Saint-Germain on goal-difference.

Igor Tudor replaced Jorge Sampaoli as coach in the summer, and the Croatian has moulded his new players into a functioning unit quickly, with former Arsenal man Alexis and Nuno Tavares - on loan from the Gunners - scoring three league goals apiece so far.

Alexis a miss

Alexis got the last of his goals in the 2-0 win at AJ Auxerre last Saturday, but he was suspended as OM suffered their first defeat of the Tudor era, losing 2-0 to Tottenham in Champions League Group D in midweek.

Chancel Mbemba was sent off early in the second half against Spurs, so he, like Alexis, will be available on Saturday. Tudor thought his side could have taken more from the game.

"It's a mixture of emotions," he said. "I think we had a good match. In the first half we dominated them. After the red card it was more difficult. We didn't create many chances and in the end two crosses decided the fate of the game."

Dimitri Payet was fit enough for the bench on Tuesday although his minutes might be managed as overcomes a calf complaint. OM have no other injury concerns and are likely to name a full-strength side against the 2021 French champions.

Dogues finding their bite

Lille haven't lost to Marseille since February 2020, when a Reinildo own goal and Dario Benedetto strike cancelled out Victor Osimhen's opener, but they begin the day four places and six points worse off that their hosts.

Also under new management with Paulo Fonseca having replaced the PSG-bound Christophe Galtier, les Dogues are beginning to find their bite under the Portuguese, winning two of their last three games, most recently beating Montpellier Hérault SC 3-1.

Jonathan David bagged a brace on Sunday, taking his tally for the season to four, and Fonseca could name an almost unchanged side at the Orange Vélodrome with his players having had three more days' rest than their hosts come Saturday.

Rotation in goal?

Léo Jardim's place in goal in under pressure from Lucas Chevalier after the mistake that led to Ellye Wahi's opener last weekend, though.

"I wasn't happy with the way we conceded the goal," Fonseca said. "We controlled the game, we were dominating, and we shouldn't suffer like that. We want to win all the time; we mustn't show that."

Lille have no fresh injury concerns, with Rémy Cabella and Yusuf Yazici competing for the No.10 position.
