Ligue 1 Uber Eats is more than ever the League of Talents. In the first eight rounds of the 2022-23 season, a number of young players have made their mark, such as Désiré Doué. At the end of August, the young Rennes player became the first player born in 2005 to score in any of the five major European leagues.

Doué, Yoro and Zaïre-Emery lead the way

Désiré Doué is one of the three youngest players to have played this season. He made his debut at the age of 17 years and 65 days. Two other under-17s have played in Ligue 1 Uber Eats this season: Parisian Warren Zaïre-Emery (16 years and 151 days) and Lille's Leny Yoro (16 years and 286 days).

Lille defender Leny Yoro is the youngest starter of the season, the only one to have started a match before he was even 17. In the top ten, there are two Rennes players (Désiré Doué and Lesley Ugochukwu) and two Strasbourg players (Mouhamadou Diarra and Ismaël Doukouré).

When it comes to the youngest goalscorers of the 2022-23 season, Désiré Doué is still in first place. The Rennes midfielder found the net at the age of 17 years and 89 days. Wilson Odobert, who trained at PSG and now plays for ESTAC, is the only other U18 player to have scored this season. At the end of August, he scored in the fourth and fifth rounds of the league campaign.
