RC Lens have announced the appointment of coach Franck Haise as general manager and the extension of his contract as coach until 2027. Meanwhile Grégory Thil has been promoted to the position of technical director.
RC Lens are reorganising. After the departure of sporting director Florent Ghisolfi to OGC Nice, the northern club decided on Thursday to appoint Franck Haise as general manager and Grégory Thil as technical director.
"Franck Haise, a key figure in the revival of the senior team's fortunes, has been given even more responsibility at the club, with his appointment as general manager of the sporting division. This is a position that is widespread across the Channel in England and which will bring clarity and transversality to the Lens project and invigorate all the sporting components (women's, training, post-training, professional team)," declared the Artesian club in a statement
In addition, this new status for the Sang et Or coach is accompanied by a two-season contract extension - just five months after he had signed an extension through to 2025 - that runs through to 2027.

"This new step in sporting governance has been carried out in a structured manner, with the sincere support of everyone, and meets the objective of allowing the club to consolidate its performance and strengthen its ambition for the seasons to come. It is a great satisfaction to be able to rely on two experts and two personalities who embody the values of the club and will express all their talent in their respective functions", explained club general manager, Arnaud Pouille.
Formerly Florent Ghisolfi's right-hand man in RCL's recruitment activities, Grégory Thil has also seen his powers extended, as the club stated: "He will put his expert eye, his high standards and his sense of teamwork at the service of all the professional sports components."
