Stade de Reims have shown coach Oscar Garcia the door, the club announced on Thursday.
Stade de Reims, 15th in Ligue 1 Uber Eats after ten matches, announced on Thursday that head coach Oscar Garcia has been relieved of his duties. The Spanish coach, who arrived in June 2021, will initially be replaced by his assistant, William Still, until a permanent replacement has been appointed.
'Results below expected objectives'
"In view of the results, which were below the expected objectives, and in order to protect the best interests of the institution, Stade de Reims has opted to end the employment of Oscar Garcia as coach of the senior team," explained the Champagne club in a statement.
Last year, in Oscar Garcia's first season in charge, Reims finished in 12th place with 46 points.
