Stade Rennais lead Ligue 1 Uber Eats in terms of distance covered and are second in terms of the number of sprints performed. Take a closer look at the athletic performances of Ligue 1 Uber Eats sides over 28 matches.

Stade Rennais are on top of their game this season. Fifth in Ligue 1 Uber Eats with 50 points from 28 games - equal to the club record at this stage of the competition from 2010-11 and 2019-20 - the Brittany club has been racking up the miles since the start of the championship. With a collective 119.6 km run per match, Les Rouge et Noir dominate the competition - in fact, they run 1.6 km more per match than their nearest rival, RC Strasbourg Alsace.

The arrival of Frédéric Antonetti on the Alsatian bench has not altered RCSA's volume of runs this season. In second place, the Strasbourg-based club clocked up 118 km per match, putting them ahead of RC Lens (117.8 km per match) on the podium. FC Lorient (117.6) and Stade de Reims (117.5) complete the top five.

Third in terms of distance run, RC Lens, on the other hand, hold the season record for a single match. In Round 24 Les Sang et Or ran 126.7 km in their 3-1 victory over FC Nantes. This is better than Toulouse FC, who were just behind them in their Round 20 outing (126.5 km against Strasbourg). Proof that Lens' record is not a coincidence: they also clocked the fourth-best performance in the 2022-23 season. Stade de Reims are the other club that managed to slip two of its performances into the top five. Four of the top five marks were achieved after the 2022 World Cup break.

RC Lens, king of the sprints

RC Lens are well placed in the long distance category, but even better in the sprints - which is far from surprising when you consider the intensity that Lens often put into their matches. With 171 sprints per match, Les Sang et Or are ahead of Stade Rennais, who sit second in the ranking with an average of 164 sprints. These two teams have carved out a gap ahead of their nearest rivals: Toulouse FC are third with 154 sprints per game, just ahead of AS Monaco (153), OM (152) and LOSC (151).

As far as the record for a single match this season is concerned, Stade Rennais currently hold the honour, with a total of 209 sprints in their Round 26 clash against OM. Les Rouge et Noir also have the second-best record (203 sprints in Round 16), tied with RC Lens (203 sprints in Round 26).
