Clermont Foot, currently 11th in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, announced on Friday that they have extended the contract of coach Pascal Gastien and his staff.
Another season for Pascal Gastien. At the head of the Clermont Foot 63 first team since September 2017, the 59-year-old coach has extended his contract by one year, through to June 2024, his club announced Friday.
Named Coach of the Season in Ligue 2 BKT in 2019 and 2021, the native of Rochefort has already entered the history of CF63 by clinching its first promotion to the top flight (2021), and then keeping them there the following season (17th).
Staff extended for two years
This season, Clermont Foot have done even better than last time around - Pascal Gastien's men have collected 43 points from 31 games, which is enough to guarantee them of Ligue 1 Uber Eats football next season.
Supported by his five assistants (Emmanuel Gas, Stéphane Héros, Eric Gelard, Corentin Digard and Sébastien Grillon), all of whom have been extended until June 2025, the coach should in all likelihood take part in a third consecutive season in the top flight with the Auvergne club in 2023-24.
