Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique described his side's 4-0 thrashing of Marseille as the 'perfect evening' after the reigning Ligue 1 Uber Eats champions moved within two points of leaders Brest.

Goals from Achraf Hakimi, a first for the club for Randal Kolo Muani and a brace from summer signing Gonçalo Ramos wrapped up a comfortable evening for Les Parisiens at a raucous Parc des Princes.

The win capped off a fine week for Luis Enrique's side who put Borussia Dortmund to the sword in midweek and the Spaniard was delighted with the performance of his players in the first 'Classique' of the season.

"I would say it was a perfect evening," Luis Enrique told PSG's official website after watching his team dismantle arch-rivals Marseille. "We were very good right from the start of the match with a lot of intensity. We truly dominated this game.

"There were really two tempos in this match. A calmer one when we had the ball, and a more frenetic pace, which our fans enjoy, when we had to go and win the ball back.

"We gave a different focus to the style of play we want to offer, and everything went as planned. The most difficult part, the players realised it, is to stay connected, focused, and play together. Everything went well and we are happy."

Meanwhile, deadline-day signing Kolo Muani was delighted to have opened his account for the club with a close-range finish, eight minutes before the interval.

The France international was handed his first start in the league and admits his strike at the Parc des Princes was a dream come true.

"It was just a magical and unforgettable match and we were determined to win this one," he said. "It's very, very important for us and the supporters, as Parisians. We can be proud of ourselves."

On his goal, Kolo Muani added: "I fulfilled my first dream. I am very, very proud of myself tonight, and I hope to score many more goals for myself and to help the team."
