Florian Sotoca is getting closer to the top. With his assist for the goal in Lens's 1-0 win at Strasbourg on Friday, the Sang et Or striker moved up to third place on the official Ligue 1 Uber Eats assist chart. The RC Lens No.7's three assists this season put him in third place, just one behind leader Caio Henrique (AS Monaco), who is out for several months following a serious knee injury.

The Sotoca-Wahi connection develops

In Strasbourg, Sotoca was decisive when he found Elye Wahi in the lead-up to the opening goal. The newly-formed duo are starting to get the hang of things: Wahi has hit the target on five of his seven attempts this season in the French top flight, including three after being set up by Sotoca.

With 17 career assists in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, the native of Narbonne is part of a group of six players with three assists - Takumi Minamino (ASM), Josué Casimir (HAC), Moses Simon (FCN), Florent Mollet (FCN) and Marshall Munetsi (SdR) - who are hot on the heels of Caio Henrique.
