Aaron Malouda made his Ligue 1 Uber Eats debut when LOSC beat AC Le Havre 0-2 on Sunday. But the 17-year-old isn't the only son of a former Ligue 1 Uber Eats star currently making a name himself in France's top flight. Ligue1.com investigates!

Aaron Malouda (LOSC) came on for a handful of seconds at the end of the match at the Stade Océane in place of Edon Zeghrova, continuing the tradition of sons of former players taking their turn in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. He is one of 401 players to have played at least one match this season.

Malouda more precocious than the Thurams

This season, many players are already following in their father's footsteps in the French league. Léo Leroy*, Sacha Delaye* and Enzo Tchato* at Montpellier HSC, Pablo Pagis* and Eli Junior Kroupi* at FC Lorient, but also Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang* at OM, Johan Gastien* at Clermont Foot, Lucas Hernandez* at PSG, Lorenz Assignon* (SRFC), Théo Le Bris* (FC Lorient) Kévin N'Doram* at FC Metz and Khephren Thuram* at OGC Nice.

Among the sons of former France internationals, Aaron Malouda got off to an even earlier start in France's top flight than OGC Nice midfielder Khéphren (18 years and 144 days) or his brother Marcus (19 years and 364 days).

After signing his first professional contract with LOSC on 1 July (through to 2026) at the same time as another son of a former player (18-year-old goalkeeper Lisandru Olmeta*), LOSC's young attacking midfielder is continuing his rise after playing in two Gambardella Cup semi-finals with the renowned youth academy of Stade Rennais.

Fifth-youngest in Ligue 1 this season Uber Eats

The latest rookie son of a former player to take his bow, LOSC's Aaron Malouda is also the youngest of all at the moment. In fact, there are only five players to have appeared this season who were born before the pedigreed midfielder. The Lille man is one of just eight players under the age of 18 to have graced a Ligue 1 Uber Eats pitch in 2023-24.

The youngest players to have played in Ligue 1 Uber Eats this season:
1. Eli Junior Kroupi (FC Lorient): 17 years and 58 days old
2. Warren Zaïre-Emery (PSG): 17 years and 157 days
3. Bastien Meupiyou (FC Nantes): 17 years and 166 days
4. Mathis Lambourde (Stade Rennais): 17 years and 250 days
5. Leny Yoro (LOSC): 17 years and 180 days
6. Aaron Malouda (LOSC): 17 years and 305 days
7. Mamadou Diakhon (Stade de Reims): 17 years and 332 days
8. Valentin Atangana Edoa (Stade de Reims): 17 years and 352 days
9. Emran Soglo (OM): 18 years and 38 days
10. Nathan Zézé (FC Nantes): 18 years and 56 days

Next on the list of players with a famous name but yet to make a name for themselves is certainly Ethan Mbappé - Kylian's younger brother - who will be 17 at the end of December, and who was on the Paris bench against OGC Nice on 15 September.
