Alexandre Lacazette has equaled Bernard Lacombe at the top of the list of most hat tricks for Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

In Sunday’s win over Toulouse FC (3-0), Alexandre Lacazette scored in his 100th different match in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, becoming the first player in the 21st century to accomplish this feat solely with Olympique Lyonnais.

During this game, Les Gones' captain equalled Bernard Lacombe's record for number of hat-tricks scored in the league while wearing the Lyon jersey (6).

Lacazette has scored at least 3 goals in 6 different matches since his debut in Ligue 1 Uber Eats in May 2010, only Kylian Mbappé (8) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (7) have more over this period.

Alexandre Lacazette's 6 matches with three or more goals in Ligue 1 Uber Eats:

Hat-trick - October 2014: OL-LOSC (3-0)

Hat-trick - November 2015: OL-ASSE (3-0)

Hat-trick - May 2016: OL-AS Monaco (6-1)

Hat-trick - August 2016: OL-ASNL (3-0)

Four goals - May 2023: OL-MHSC (5-4)

Hat-trick – December 2023: OL-TFC (3-0)

Lacazette, a historic hat-trick against Les Verts

Among his six matches with three goals or more, the most renowned undoubtedly remains the one against AS Saint-Étienne in the November 8, 2015 derby (3-0), which stands as one of only three such victories in OL's history. This achievement occurred half a century after Angel Rambert's (1963) and 64 years after the symbolic hat-trick by Frédéric Woehl, marking the very first for a Lyonnais in the championship.

His first hat-trick:

In the 2014/2015 season, wearing the number 10 jersey, Alexandre Lacazette emerged as Olympique Lyonnais' primary offensive force. With an impressive start to the league season, having scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist in the initial eight matches, Alex marked the ninth matchday with a remarkable hat-trick. On October 5, 2014, nearly four years after his debut goal in the top flight, Lacazette delivered an outstanding performance, beating Vincent Enyeama three times. Demonstrating power, speed, precision in both his right foot and headers, the striker showcased his multitude of skills, enabling OL to secure a comfortable and decisive victory.

Following his sixth match with three or more goals, all achieved at home, Alexandre Lacazette has equaled Bernard Lacombe's record in the history of OL in Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

Hear more from Alexandre Lacazette as he spoke after Sunday’s match.

Your favorite goal?

My 99th for OL, against Nice! Because my first touch of the ball was incredible... I received a long ball and I controlled it with my left foot, turning around to find myself facing the goalkeeper in one touch. It only happens once in a lifetime, scoring a goal like that…

Your best memory?

My hat-trick against Saint-Étienne in the final match at Stade Gerland was unforgettable! Since I joined OL at the age of 11, I've always been told that winning the derby was crucial. That mentality stuck with me – beating Saint-Étienne was ingrained, both in youth games and in Ligue 1! Scoring a hat-trick in the derby was an incredible moment for me. Another memorable hat-trick was during the last match of the 2015/2016 season against Monaco. We needed a win to qualify for the Champions League, and I managed to score a hat-trick (6-1). The atmosphere at Groupama Stadium was electric!

Toughest opponent?

Marquinhos… He’s an intelligent defender. He is not particularly strong or physically impressive but he is intelligent. And it’s harder to play against smart defenders than tough ones!

Your favorite coach?

Bruno Génésio. He was a coach who really had confidence in me, who believed in me, and who allowed me to play with freedom. All my coaches counted because they all made me play but Bruno was the one who allowed me to become a different player.
